Once all becomes data, the boundaries between body, record, thing and mind
seem fluid. Information that is meant to be invisible becomes visible, and
at times what must be visible disappears from sight: we see the greatest
dangers in cybersecurity coming from manipulation.
The music video presents the music of composer Hallie Smith with the dance
performance by Olivia Holston, which we captured as point clouds.
Both narrative and conceptual, the video seeks to show the energy of ardent
intentions against a backdrop of a sea of uncertainty.
About Event
Choreographer and dance professor Sydney Skybetter will introduce you to the work, and lead a discussion about our take on cybersecurity. He will also ask us to demonstrate some aspects of the project live, including a few dance phrases and a demo of our point cloud capture system.
The whole event is organized by Berkeley's Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity and specifically Nick Merill and Rachel Wesen, who also supported the production of the video.
