Asma Kazmi Named Townsend Fellow

Congratulations to Asma Kazmi on being named a Townsend Fellow!

The Townsend Fellowships program awards UC Berkeley faculty whose research signficantly involves humanistic material or addresses issues related to the humanities. The Fellowship aims to help further the research of recipients and enable faculty and graduate students in the humanities to collaborate with other disciplines and departments.

Asma is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Art Practice at UC Berkeley. Using material objects to create compex visuals, Asma's artwork addresses forgotten and ignored histories linked to colonization and postcolonialism.
