Alum Paglen's Exhibit for Altman Siegel in SFAQ
BCNM Alum Trevor Paglen's solo show, "Impossible Objects," at Altman Siegel, was featured in SFAQ! The exhibit will run from March 15 - May 5, 2018.
From the SFAQ website:
"March 15, Altman Siegel hosts an opening reception for Impossible Objects, Trevor Paglen’s fourth solo exhibition with the gallery. Paglen presents new sculptures, photographs and works on paper, offering 'multiple takes on the history of spaceflight, from the utopian visions of late 19th Century Russian ‘Cosmists,’ to present-day military and surveillance apparatuses.' Paglen presents new photographs from The Other Night Sky, an ongoing series of works documenting covert satellites and other unidentified objects in orbit, utilizing telescopes and large-format cameras to 'make visible the unseen.'"

Paglen's art was also mentioned on KQED Arts. Read the KQED article here.
Art Practical also published a great piece about his show here. From the article:
Rejecting straight documentation in pursuit of compelling imagery, Paglen’s works in Impossible Objects challenge viewers to reimagine the outer reaches of earth’s atmosphere as a zone for exploration and creativity. They propose a utopian alternative, in which aerospace research and development might be used for purposes other than those connected with nation-state aggression and defense.
