Revisited: Builders Association Berkeley Book Launch

The Berkeley Center for New Media was thrilled to partner with the Arts + Design | Arts Research Center to host the Berkeley book launch of The Builders Association by BCNM faculty member and Associate Vice Chancellor of Arts + Design, Shannon Jackson, and Builders Association founder Marianne Weems.

From Shannon on how the book was "made@berkeley":
This book really came about because of a residency sponsored way back by ARC, one that involved actors and dancers from TDPS, film and art students from Film/Media and Art Practice, city planning researchers from CED, an I-School grad who built the website, a CNMAT grad who apprenticed on the sound design. The whole thing came about too because Ken Goldberg (then BCNM director) and Anne Walsh were willing to put together the residency concept with me. Now with the opening of our new museum designed by DS+R (D+S was a collaborator with The Builders) and led by Marianne’s best friend from college (Larry Rinder), there really is too much ‘made@berkeley’ synergy around this book not to do something about it.
