Shannon Jackson on Funding the Arts at Battery Powered

BCNM Professor Shannon Jackson was featured in an published letter in Battery Powered, the philanthropist blog for The Battery, a club in SF. Jackson was featured the other day in a Battery-sponsored talk and conversation, "Love, Joy and the Power of Electricity" through Power of Art and Creativity.

The letter, "A Guggenheim Winner Tells Us How She’d Fund the Arts" focuses on the importance of organizations working together to buoy the rich Bay Area cultural ecology. The fear is if organizations work in parallel, without recognition of each others’ needs and contributions, they can end up working at cross-purposes with each other. Key focus areas are thriving communities, new mediums and research and creative processes.
