Game Design Showcase and Arcade

The Game Design methods course (Practice of Art 178) will be presenting a showcase and arcade of student-created games on Wednesday, May 6 in 285 Kroeber Hall. The event will take place from noon to 5pm, and will display the theoretical and practical aspects of what students have learned, in implementing their own game ideas for other people to perform. This course is taught by Greg Niemeyer, and focuses on five core elements: the study of games as transmitters of culture, the study of play and interactivity, the study of games as symbolic systems; the study of games as artifacts; and methods for creating games.
