Revisited: "Deep Dreams: Between Inspiration and Hallucination"
On November 28, Google engineer and artist Mike Tyka discussed with Gray Area founder Josette Melchor the creative possibilities afforded by neural networks and the impact the DeepDream project has had. In addition to an in-depth description of how deep dream originated and the work produced by artists through this tool, audiences were invited to think further on the copyright questions around machine learning art and the various potentials for alternative artistic practices.
