Alpha60 White Paper Published and in the News!

Last year, Prof. Abigail De Kosnik received a BCNM Faculty seed grant to create alpha60, a data science/digital humanities tool that maps BitTorrent traffic on a global scale (think: mapping the piracy of the latest episode of Game of Thrones in light of HBO being hacked).

Since we last covered Gail's project (here and here), she and husband and collaborator Benjamin De Kosnik published a white paper about their research — and several media outlets have picked up on alpha60's exciting results. Among the media outlets are Torrentfreak, Mashable, and UK's Gizmodo.
