Ken Goldberg's Ambi Robotics Raises $26 Million
Robotics startup Ambi Robotics, cofounded by BCNM faculty Ken Goldberg in 2018, has raised $26 million in funding. What makes Ambi Robotics so lucrative is its groundbreaking AI system Dex Net, short for dexterity network, which uses deep learning to scan images of 3D models of objects and applies algorithms to this data in order to learn how to pick them up as effeciently as possible. Ambi's operation system, AmbiOS, is able to train algorithms 10,000 times faster than its competitors. Because of this, Ambi's robots can automate and expedite e-commerce by adapting to the different processes, workflows, and packaging at warehouses and fulfillment centers, while also collecting data on how to continually improve their effectiveness. Ambi Robotics' current partners include Pitney Bowes, and they hope to use the new funding to expand their team as well as product deployment.
