Camille Crittenden Excellence in Management Award
Congratulations to BCNM's Camille Crittendon for receiving the Berkeley Staff Assembly’s 2021 Excellence in Management Award! The award honors exemplary managers and supervisors who have led their teams and team members to meaningful accomplishments this past year, and this year's theme was leading in difficult times. Awardees were chosen based on their resiliance, adaptiveness, compassion, and active and intentional engagement around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Camille Crittenden, Ph.D., is the Executive Director of CITRIS and the Banatao Institute, and co-founder of the CITRIS Policy Lab and the Women in Tech Initiative at UC. She also chairs the California Blockchain Working Group. Prior to coming to CITRIS in 2012, she was Executive Director of the Human Rights Center at Berkeley Law, where she helped to develop its program in human rights, technology, and new media. She has written and spoken widely on these topics, as well as technology applications for civic engagement, government transparency and accountability, and the digital divide. She held previous positions as Assistant Dean for Development with International and Area Studies at UC Berkeley and in development and public relations at the University of California Press and the San Francisco Opera. She earned an MA and Ph.D. from Duke University.
