The Revolution That Wasn't Reviewed in Mass Communication & Society

Alum Jen Schradie's book The Revolution That Wasn't: How Digital Activism Favors Conservatives received a fantastic review from Briana Trifiro in the Journal of Mass Communication and Society.

From the review: "Once we see through the hype that has surrounded the notion of digital activism, Schraide shows us that there is an uneven digital landscape that has for the most part ignored left, working-class individuals, and in turn, placed right-wing reformist groups at the forefront of online activism. Further, this book offers great insight, not only in regard to social movements, but also regarding the meteoric rise of President Trump. While this book will be of definite interest to political communication scholars, its accessibility and readability will appeal to all emerging media and digital scholars. It is an enlightening piece of literature that combines quantitative data with in-depth conversations with the very individuals scholars seek to better understand, and it will likely be of great interest to scholars across all disciplines."
