For our latest History, Theory and New Media Lecture Series, Organization for Transformative Works (TWC) leaders Francesca Coppa, Kristina Busse and Karen Hellekson took to the virtual stage to discuss online fandoms and the revolutionary, feminist, open-access work that is being done on their servers. Respondents Katherine Morrissey and Melanie Kohnen also joined in on the conversation, inviting questions and debates on the state of fandom today.

Coppa consistently reiterates the integrity behind the Organization of Transformative Works' mission, dedicated to serving fan interests and preserving fan history — relying primarily on donations to keep its platform running. Although there are noticeable generation gaps and new trends that come with the advent of innovative technology, the speakers address the longevity of their work despite any potential setbacks, sociocultural barriers, controversies and more.
