Miyoko Conley's Human Museum Live Feb 12
We're thrilled that Miyoko Conley's Human Museum is being featured in Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies' New Play Reading Series!
Head to B4 Dwinelle Hall on February 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to listen to this incredible new work!
Set in a future where humans have gone extinct, Human Museum follows a group of robots on Earth that run a museum dedicated to organizing the physical and digital artifacts of human life. On the centenary of human extinction, a sudden radio call upends everything the robots thought they knew about the last days of humanity.
The New Play Reading Series is a directed group study course led by current Performance Studies graduate students. Students in the course form a repertory theater company dedicated to the reading of three new plays by up-and-coming playwrights. Attendance is free and open to the public.
About Miyoko
Miyoko Conley researches transnational media, fan cultures, and affective technologies, with a focus on Japanese and South Korean popular culture. More broadly, she writes about the intersections of theatre and popular culture, and examines how media phenomenon impact traditional theatre spaces, as well as theatricality in online spaces. Miyoko is also a playwright and performer, and her work engages with what it means to perform with technology.
Miyoko earned a B.F.A. in Theatre and an M.A. in Individualized Study (Playwriting and Japanese Popular Culture) from New York University. She is completing a Ph.D. in Performance Studies at UC Berkeley and is receiving a DE in New Media.

Room B4 is located on Level B of Dwinelle Hall in the Berkeley Language Center corridor. The room is accessible via the ground-level entrance on the southwest corner of Dwinelle Hall, adjacent to Dwinelle Annex and the circle driveway.
