Alum Jane McGonigal led an online discussion for Long Beach California State University consisting of over 24,000 suggestions from students, faculty, and the general public on what they would like the campus to look like in the year 2030.

The platform was called "Imagine Beach 2030," developed by Jane McGonigal herself. According to EdSurge, its purpose was to make an online suggestion and feedback "feel like a game."

Users were allowed to use social media accounts such as Twitter and Facebook to share their thoughts. McGonigal's platform did not allow editing or deletion of posts.
