Cesar Torres Demo Arrangement Chair for Tei 2019

César Torres, BCNM DE and EECS Ph.D. Candidate at UC Berkeley, was named a demo arrangement co-chair for TEI 2019. Alongside Arizona State University's Piyum Fernando, Torres will assist in demo arrangement efforts for the 13th international conference on Tangible, Embedded, and Embodied Interactions. It will take place next year from March 17-20 in Tempe, Arizona.

The 2019 theme is "hybrid materials" within TEI research. For example, advancements in new materials such as conductive and thermochromic inks or biosensors are indicative in how computing has been embedded in the physical world. In other ways, hybridity also involves the interdisciplinary research that goes into tangible interaction, looking at the intersection of social, technical, biological, and artistic systems.
