Alumna Bonnie Ruberg to Join Informatics at UC Irvine
Following the completion of her Provost's Postdoctoral Scholarship at the University of Southern California in the fall of 2017, Bonnie will be joining the department of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine as a tenure-track assistant professor of digital games and interactive media.
The Provost’s Postdoctoral Scholars Program in the Humanities at USC builds on other programs that champion the importance of the humanities for USC’s academic community. These appointments are for two years, and Provost’s scholars teach three courses over four semesters, with one semester free for full-time research.
She’s excited to be joining a vibrant, interdisciplinary community with wonderful colleagues and students in the Department of Informatics at UCI. Department is hosted in the Don Brenn School of Information and Computer Science. Their mission and values in software engineering, human-computer interaction and computer-supported cooperative work have been key areas of strength at UC Irvine for decades. Graduate students and faculty there laid the foundations for REST and WebDAV, two architectural styles underlying critical elements of the modern World Wide Web. The projects there are sure to challenge and inspire Bonnie for years to come. Congratulations!
"I am infinitely grateful to all those mentors and friends who have lent me their time and support along the way."
