Eric Paulos Promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure

Eric Paulos was promoted to associate professor with tenure in electrical engineering and computer science at UC Berkeley!

And no wonder — Eric has been a driving force in advancing research at the intersection of design, art, innovation, and development, and on campus has used this expertise to help build new hands-on learning opportunities and research structures as the Chief Learning Officer of the Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation, the founder and director of the Hybrid Ecologies Lab, the the Director of the CITRIS Invention Lab, the Faculty Director of the CITRIS Connected Communities Initiative, and the Co-Director of SWARM Lab!

As a computer scientist, Eric's research is focused on Human-Computer Interaction and Design. He designs, constructs, deploys, and evaluates software and hardware to encourage broad participation by non-experts within science and engineering, to improve human health and well-being, and to provoke debate and inquiry concerning our existing and emerging technological society. It is this critical response to technology that has made Eric such a vital member of the BCNM community.
