Welcome Steffen Moestrup: Visiting Scholar from Copenhagen
Steffen Moestrup is a PhD fellow at University of Copenhagen, Denmark and a visiting researcher at BCNM this fall. Moestrup researches what we might term persona-driven journalism. He analyzes how journalists create and use their personas across different types of media and how the interaction between old media and new media plays into such processes. Considering persona-driven journalism as performances, Moestrup applies a trans-disciplinary approach drawing on methods and theories from journalism studies as well as performance studies.
Moestrup has a background in journalism and cultural criticism and has published extensively within the fields of literature and film and served on the critics jury at film festivals such as in Cannes, Toronto and Mumbai. His MA dissertation was a phenomenological study of bodily transgressive documentary films.
