Revisited: BCNM Open House Fall 2017

If the Fall Open House is anything to go by, 2017-2018 is going to be another exciting year for the Berkeley Center for New Media and its partnering organizations!

We were thrilled to share a DDR/algebra-learning mash-up called Geometris from Leah Rosenbaum (advised by Kimiko Ryokai), LED and shape-changing material demonstrations from Christine Dierk and Cesar Torres in the Hybrid Ecologies Lab (advised by Eric Paulos), as well as new data sonic visualizations from Greg Niemeyer. We also had the opportunity to announce this year's stunning Art, Technology, and Culture Colloquium and the History and Theory of New Media Lecture Series line-up. Keep a look out for our two major conferences this year on Digital Media and Free Speech and Virtuality and the Past. Plus, we have plenty of other opportunities to get involved, including book talks, workshops, and more!

Thank you to Arts + Design, the Arts Research Initiative, the CITRIS Invention Lab, the New Media Working Group, and the Critical Theory Working Group for joining us as well to share your upcoming suite of programs and current research agendas. We're excited to collaborate further on the many incredible works in development!
