Revisited: Lunch with Product Design Pioneer Patricia Moore
Pattie Moore, a pioneer of socially conscious design, joined the Center for New Media on Wednesday, April 8th for a lunch on extreme design. The seminar was a chance for students to discuss their projects with Pattie and receive professional feedback.
BCNM was thrilled to have so many faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates attend to learn more about what it means to engage in socially conscious design. Pattie was incredibly generous with her time and regaled the group with her experience marketing universal design to companies and developing the research and understanding that allows her to so successfully bring new products to the market. She also discussed her reliance on anthropology, history, and news to inspire her works. It was fascinating for students to gain insight into the collaborations and corporate navigation involved in designing for industry.
