danah boyd (BCNM alum) is a Partner Researcher at Microsoft Research and a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Georgetown University. danah is also the founder of Data & Society and examines the intersection between technology and society.
danah was recently featured on the Power User podcast with Taylor Lorenz, which focused on how social media affects young minds. danah spent 12 years researching the effects of social media on young minds and even published a book on it titled, "It's Complicated," she is the top researcher on kids and social media use, about some of the problems that young people today are facing. danah talks about why quick fixes like banning social media apps are never the answer, and what we can actually do to help younger generations.
