Trevor Paglen Art Acquired by Baltimore Museum of Art

Trevor Paglen's artwork is one of nine contemporary artworks purchased by the Baltimore Museum of Art. At the same time, the museum is attempting to sell seven of its pre-existing pieces — some from lauded artists Andy Warhol and Franz Kline.

The selling of these works and the acquisition of others is an attempt from the museum to diversify its collections, buying art from more women and people of color. Although Paglen is a white man, several from the museum's nine purchases were created by African-American artists. A few of the other artists joining Paglen in this collection are Mark Bradford, John T. Scott, Jack Whitten, Zanele Muholi and Sara VanDerBeek.
