Lee Crandall Wins the Digital Geographies Specialty Group’s Best Graduate Student Paper Award
BCNM student Lee Crandall is recognized for their groundbreaking work in the field of geography at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the American Association of Geographers!
Lee won the Digital Geographies Specialty Group’s Best Graduate Student Paper Award for their paper “Plotting cryptoeconomic imaginaries and counterplotting the network state" in which they critically analyze cryptoeconomic imaginaries through Sylvia Wynter's concept of "plotting," proposing "counterplot work" as a decolonial praxis to resist cryptocolonialism and reimagine economic futures in the context of blockchain and cryptocurrency-driven development.
