The Future of Waters

Join the Gordon L. Grosscup Museum of Anthropology for an evening exploring The Future of Water!

Monica Lewis-Patrick of We The People of Detroit Community Research Collective and Dr. Patrick Owuor of WSU’s Department of Anthropology will discuss global water access, from Detroit to Oaxaca to Kenya. Their conversation will highlight the essential role of clean water and the impact of community-driven solutions.

This event is part of Greg Niemeyer’s work on Hydrocolonialism, which examines the historical and political dimensions of water access and control. Niemeyer, a professor at UC Berkeley and a faculty member at the Berkeley Center for New Media (BCNM), researches the intersection of data, culture, and environmental issues.

"Access to clean water is not just a necessity—it’s a fundamental human right."
