Announcing Our Spring 2025 Class Fund Recipients

We are very excited to offer small grants to further support our faculty in their new media classes.

In Spring 2025, we are able to support two BCNM faculty and their respective classes: Nicole Starosielski's "Digital Infrastructures 101: The Hidden Foundations of the Internet", and Eric Paulos's "NWMEDIA 203: Critical Making."

These funds are being used to enrich the course experience for students. Nicole will be utilizing the funds to commission a student-made creative video addressing the question "What are Global Digital Infrastructures?" Moving forward, this would be used as part of the Digital Infrastructures 101 course content, but could also be screened in other New Media-related courses that want to explain what people mean by this concept, and how it can be studied ethically and in a way that is engaged with local communities. Meanwhile, Jacob will be using the funds to purchase essential electronic hardware kits for his Critical Making course.
