Salesforce Tower Showcases "Synchronicity" by Greg Niemeyer: A Stunning Visualization of Bay Area Environmental Data

This December, Salesforce Tower Day for Night proudly presents Synchronicity, a mesmerizing video artwork by Greg Niemeyer, renowned Data Artist and Professor at UC Berkeley. Created specifically for the iconic Tower crown screen and aligned with the winter solstice, Synchronicity transforms a year of Bay Area environmental data into 20 minutes of vibrant, dynamic animation.

A grateful resident of the Bay Area, Niemeyer uses this landmark display to remind us that, while the sky above and the ground beneath us are constantly shifting, they unite us all. Through stunning visuals, he animates a year's worth of data, bringing to life air quality, tides, weather patterns, foliage, earthquakes, solar plasma activity, and the Earth's annual journey around the sun.

With Synchronicity, Niemeyer invites viewers to look up and celebrate the rhythms that connect us to each other and to the natural world. The work embodies the power of cooperation and creativity to address the challenges of our time, inspiring a shared vision for a cleaner, safer, and more perceptive world.

The data driving this captivating piece comes from a variety of government agencies, including NASA, NOAA, the Berkeley Seismology Lab, and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
