Visit Xiaowei Wang's Exhibition '女 Nǚ: Other Half of The Sky'

If you're in the Bay, make sure you head to "女 Nǚ: Other Half of The Sky," the amazing exhibition co-curated by BCNM DE student Xiaowei Wang (Geography) and Qianqian Ye. The programming illustrates the trans-Pacific flows of labor between Asia and the San Francisco Bay Area, featuring artists such as Fei Liu, Bing Bin, Angel Chen, Ming Mur-Ray, Ananda Gabo and others.

According to the exhibition description:

"It centers the invisible labor of those who have built the infrastructure for Silicon Valley's tech boom from the factory workers of Shenzhen to the janitors and microtask workers of the SF Bay Area, focusing on forms of labor including maintenance and care. The exhibition and related programming reimagines Orientalist narratives in the context of labor, and questions who has the right to imagine the future of work."

"女 Nǚ: Other Half of The Sky" will run until March 7, 2020. Visit the official website for more information.

You can also go to the artist talk on Feb 15, 2020 at 6pm! More information here!
