Abigail De Kosnik to Keynote Fan Studies North America 2018 Conference

Fan studies scholars and aficionados should head to Chicago this October for the inaugural Fan Studies Network North American Conference, taking place October 25th-27th at De Paul University. They'll be treated to our own Abigail De Kosnik keynoting the event on the morning of October 26th. Gail will also participate in a roundtable discussion on Race in Fandom and Fan Studies, chaired by Mel Stanfill, with Benjamin Woo, Patrick Johnson, and Alfred L. Martin, Jr.

Formed in March 2012, the Fan Studies Network was created with the idea of cultivating an international friendly space in which scholars of fandom could easily forge connections with other academics in the field, and discuss the latest topics within fan studies. Having attracted close to 300 members across the world, the network fosters a sense of community and engenders fruitful debate.
