The Berkeley division of the UC Librarians Association (LAUC-B) is hosting another conference this October, titled "Focus on the Visual: Digital Humanities and Libraries." Drawing from the works of scholars in fields of art history, geography, architecture, and "other highly visual areas," Focus on the Visual will analyze how the promotion of, support for, and accessibility to digital humanities scholarship exist in rapidly evolving states.

As a part of the program, BCNM's Prof. Greg Niemeyer (Art Practice) and Prof. Ron Rael (Architecture) will lead a breakout session, "Creating Digital Art and Architecture." Those on the speaker schedule are not limited to Cal Bears, however. Scholars from UCSB, UCLA, and Stanford will also be in attendance, ensuring a colorful discussion of of the new methodologies and tools that define this exciting field.

The conference is free to attend, and will be held down the street from campus at the David Browner Center.
