BCNM Alums’ QGCon 2017 Moves to LA

We’re pleased to announce that this year’s Queerness and Games Conference (QGCon), started by BCNM alumni Bonnie Ruberg and Chris Goetz, will be moving from the Bay to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles during the weekend of April 1st.

As graduate students at UC Berkeley in 2013, Ruberg and Goetz teamed up to create the annual, community-oriented event with BCNM’s support to explore the intersection of LGBTQ issues and video games. The event, originally hosted at UC Berkeley, is now in its fourth year and continues to foster dialogue across scholars, game developers, and game players on increasing accessibility and inclusion in gaming culture.

QGCon grows every year, but its commitment to creating an inclusive and safe space for all remains the same.

The event is free and open to the public.
