Ra Malika Imotep Awarded President’s Postdoctoral Fellow

A huge congratulations to Ra Malika Imhotep, who was awarded a University of California President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Critical Dance Studies at the University of California, Riverside! Ra will be mentored by Ni’Ja Whitson and will be researching "Embodied Citation: A Genealogy of Black feminist Performance Methodology (on stage and in the streets)."

the intellectual + creative work of Ra/Malika Imhotep, ph.d, tends to the relationships between queer embodiment, Black femininity, vernacular culture, & the performance of labor.

Ra/Malika is co-convener of an embodied spiritual-political education project called The Church of Black Feminist Thought a member of The Black Aesthetic and the proud child of D. Makeda Johnson and Akbar Imhotep.
