Welcoming Xuan Wang: Visiting Scholar from China
Wang Xuan is the director of the technical department of the Library at the Communication University of China and the former associate director of the technical department of the Media Museum. He joins us now as a Visiting Scholar at BCNM!
Born and raised in China, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Resource Management from Jilin University in 2005, and received his Master's Degree in Computer Science from the Communication University of China in 2010. After graduating he worked as technical staff of the Media Museum for 11 years. His work and research focus specifically on how to use new media and new technology to enhance the impact of the Museum and to make exhibitions more attractive and meaningful. In 2021 he became the director of the technical department of the Library at Communication University of China. The main focus of his work is the digitization of the library.
During his non-work time, Wang Xuan runs an account on Sina Weibo, the largest social platform in China, where he has translated and created sports-related news since 2013. He has more than 2.2 million followers and has became one of the most famous sports bloggers in China!
