Gail De Kosnik Awarded American Cultures Excellence in Teaching Award
BCNM's Abigail De Kosnik was a recipient of the UC Berkeley American Cultures Center's 2021 Teaching Award. Every year, the Teaching Award is given to faculty who "relish the particularities of the AC classroom, exciting intellectual curiosity, centering inclusivity and justice-making, and building the collective critical thinking muscle to face and make our futures." Gail, an Associate Professor in the Berkeley Center for New Media, receieved the award for the class New Media 151AC: "Transforming Tech: Issues and Interventions in STEM and Silicon Valley". As one student of 151AC shared, "lean into this incredible learning opportunity. It will teach you to create and thrive in sustainable, inclusive futures."
