Maija Hynninen's Oboe Concerto Premiered
A massive congratulations to composer and BCNM DE Maija Hynninen!
Oboe concerto Incandescence (2017) by Maija Hynninen premiered on the 10th of February 2021 by Kyeong Ham, oboe and Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anna-Maria Helsing at the Helsinki Music Centre. The work is inspired by the various colors of light a heated obstacle emits. Although entirely acoustical, the material is built with the aid of computer analysis of various oboe sounds and textures!
The concert was part of Music Nova Helsinki -contemporary music festival. It was live broadcasted on the Finnish national television and radio as well as online.
