Alex Saum-Pascual was invited to speak at “Formación Artistica,” a Spanish forum where they discuss digital art, new media, and the possibility of virtual and digital documentation during the pandemic. During the talk, Alex highlights the issues many have with the internet during this era, calling it “pandemic internet,” describing it as pervasive, dirty, and materialistic technology. She highlights how the pre-pandemic one was able to ignore these issues, but now that it’s present in our everyday lives it is a visible pollutant. In light of this, Alex questions the process of achieving and documenting during the pandemic.
