Jacob Gaboury Townsend Assistant Professor Fellow

Jacob Gaboury was one of 19 new research professionals welcomed into the 2019-2020 Townsend Fellowships program. As an Assistant Professor Fellow, Gaboury has been given support for his new Film & Media project on queer histories of computation. There, he hopes to explore the transformation of identity as a category of difference, specifically with a lens directed at contemporary digital media technologies.

The fellowship is dedicated to supporting the research of its class of faculty, advanced graduate students and other research candidates at UC Berkeley. Townsend encourages its recipients to further their own studies and collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines and departments.
