Alum Bo Ruberg Leads Inclusive Streaming Initiative at UCI

We're thrilled to see our alum Bo Ruberg leading the fantastic new Inclusive Streaming Initiative! Bo Ruberg, a New Media and Gender and Sexuality Studies alumni from U.C. Berkeley, is currently the assistant professor of digital games and interactive media in the Department of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine.

The Inclusive Streaming Initiative team includes Amanda Cullen, Kat Brewster, and Spencer Ruelos.

According to the Inclusive Streaming Initiative website, its mission is "to establish interdisciplinary research groups to explore issues of diversity, discrimination, and inclusivity in video game live streaming out of the University of California, Irvine. On September 6th and 7th, we are holding a workshop of leading researchers in the field of live streaming to investigate the state of the landscape, and identify overarching research goals. To further this initiative, we are conducting a large-scale mixed-methods study of the experiences and needs of diverse video game live streamers."
