Alum Margaret Rhee Receives Best Book Award from AAAS

The AAAS formally announced their winners for celebrating outstanding achievement in the field of Asian American studies.

Margaret Rhee was chosen as a winner for the Creative Writing (Poetry) category for her work in her digital text Love Robot. The work is a collection of romantic poetry that undermines and reassembles stories. Love, Robot encompasses content that adapts our association with innovation. Through associations among people and machines in a science anecdotal world, the accumulation offers a romantic, advanced, yet complex picture of love.

Rhee draws from a wide cluster of elements from poetics and mechanical autonomy, for example, calculations and story verse connections to make a universe of transgressive love. This vision of a fictional advanced future uncovers and questions the shapes of humankind, and how robots and people fall in love.

Along with the award, the AAAS will be honoring Rhee, along with the other winners, at the AAAS Awards Reception, Madison Concourse Hotel, on Saturday, April 27, 2019, 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
