Electronic Literature in Spanish & Digital Poetry Reading by Alex Saum Pascual at Bergen

Yesterday, on Wednesday May 2nd, UC Berkeley researcher and digital poet Alexandra Saum-Pascual was found in Norway, speaking and presenting on Spanish-language electronic literature at the University of Bergen. Saum-Pascual is an Assistant Professor of Spanish at Berkeley, as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the Berkeley Center for New Media.

"It's a structural change or a change of mindset," explains Saum-Pascual in regards to the electronic literature landscape,"...it's changing something and putting it in a different context."

Her presentation was given in English, but her digital poetry was presented in Spanish with English explanations and commentary. Saum-Pascual's entire speech was filmed and posted on the Digital Culture at the University of Bergen's Facebook page. The event was co-organized by the Bergen Electronic Literature Research Group and the Research Group Latin America: Language, Literature, and Culture.
