Trevor Paglen Named Artistic Fellow at AI Now Institute

Trevor Paglen, BCNM alum, was named an artist fellow alongside Heather Dewey-Hagborg at the AI Now Institute. His artwork crosses numerous disciplines, from image-making to investigate journalism to engineering. Paglen's pieces have been featured at many notable venues such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum (in addition to local exhibitions in the Bay Area).

The AI Now Institute is focused on providing interdisciplinary research on the broader implications of AI systems and related technologies, developing new ways to measure, audit, analyze, and improve these systems. The institute focuses on four key research areas: rights and liberties, labor and automation, bias and inclusion, and safety and critical infrastructure.
