Ken Goldberg Counters Robotics Sensationalism in "Nature"

BCNM's Ken Goldberg recently released a review of three books theorizing about the rise of AI and its possible surpassing of humans. Goldberg points out that there is much sensationalism around the rise of AI, but that human intentions and desires still form the parameters of even the most advanced fully automated systems. Although some of the authors in the review feared of a coming robotics revolution in which robots would overtake all blue and white collar work, but Goldberg asserts that a more realistic approach is to look at existing cases such as aviation and deep-sea exploration where intelligence amplification (IA) meet AI, envisioning increasing future collaboration between people and AI interfaces rather than a robotics takeover.
