Peter Lyman Fellowship Application Now Open

We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Peter Lyman Graduate Fellowship in New Media!

Established in the memory of an esteemed UC Berkeley faculty member, the Lyman Fellowship provides a summer stipend to a UC Berkeley Ph.D. candidate to support the writing of his or her Ph.D. dissertation on a topic related to New Media.

Some preference will be given to those doing research related to children and youth, and to BCNM Designated Emphasis students, but originality and quality of research are the primary criteria.

The amount of the stipend depends on the size of the fund. In Summer 2016 the fellowship amount was $6,000.

Any UC Berkeley Ph.D. candidate who has passed the Qualifying Exam and is in good standing can apply. All applications must be received by February 1, 2017 to be considered. Applications will be reviewed by a faculty committee from the Berkeley Center for New Media. The Peter Lyman Fellow will be announced in early March.
